Working out during pregnancy is not too different than when you are not pregnant. Of course you should decrease intensity a little, rest a little more, hydrate more, and not do certain exercises. And that is what I want to talk about today, what exercises to stay away from.

I don't know why people think pregnant woman can't workout. Actually pregnant women SHOULD workout and it is actually beneficial for them to. Not only does it help speed and ease labor and delivery but it will help you get back into pre-pregnancy weight much faster.

Pregnancy does not have to be an excuse to gain a ton of weight. If you eat healthy and exercise moderately, you will pretty much gain all your weight in your belly. Thank goodness!

There are lots of types of exercises you can perform during pregnancy. Actually, exercise during pregnancy will help you have more energy, prevent excess weight gain, decrease aches and pains, help during delivery and help you get in pre-pregnancy weight faster. Here is a list of exercises you can do during pregnancy: Low-Impact Aerobics Jogging Swimming Dancing Weight-Training (my favorite) Yoga When I was pregnant with Nicholas I did 3 days of weight training and 3-4 days of cardio.

If you have been working out for at least 8 weeks prior to pregnancy, then HECK YEAH! Your pregnancy workouts should definitely be intense, but they should also be safe and effective. I worked out my entire pregnancy until the day before I went into labor and I owe my 4 hour labor and 3 pushes to my awesome 5am pregnancy workouts!
