Last week we spoke about not eating for 2 in order to have a fit and healthy pregnancy. I told you I would give you the recipe for the Prego Protein Muffins to help you with your pregnancy nutrition. So here it is, but before I just want to talk about something.
I know that finally for the first time ever, you don't have to suck in your belly and look perfect so its the perfect excuse to eat whatever you want and indulge in whatever you desire. But its not worth it my friend. Not only will eating poorly make you gain excess weight but that excess weight will make you NOT enjoy your pregnancy because you will be uncomfortable. But also, losing the weight after will be so much harder and post-partum depression will be so much easier to fall into.

So let me try to change your mind set and make you see this in a whole other light, and my hope is that this will be motivation to eat healthy and have a good pregnancy nutrition.
From now on your life is not about you anymore, its about that beautiful baby that you are about to have. Now is not the time to focus on all the cravings YOU have and all the things YOU want to eat. Its time to think about your baby. And since the second that we find out that we are pregnant, we INSTANTLY become mothers, its easy to make sacrifices for our child.
So take this time and focus on giving your baby the BEST possible NUTRIENTS. Because remember that everything you eat, your baby is getting as well. During my entire pregnancy I focused on giving my baby the best possible nutrition so it was motivation to eat extra healthy. I wanted to create the BEST possible ENVIRONMENT for my baby to develop. Hey, if that's not MOTIVATION to EAT HEALTHY, I don't know what is. So, my prego friend, take this time to eat healthy and nutritious and create the healthiest environment for your baby. Take care of your body, remember that is where your body is growing and developing. It makes it so much easier to eat healthy and exercise when you think that its benefiting your baby.
Enjoy the Prego Protein Muffins. Make them ahead and keep them in the fridge for quick snacks. They are easy to make and delicious. I would love to hear how you like them, so make sure to come back on and let me know. And share any changes you made to the muffins....be creative. Good luck with your pregnancy nutrition!
