Wooh!!!! One Holiday down, and a whole month to go!!! Today someone told me, “I gained 5lbs on Thanksgiving”. Holy Moly!!!
The average American gains 10-20lbs over the HOLIDAYS!
I hope that you will not be one of them, and you won’t if you apply the tips I am about to give you.
No, I’m not going to give you a list of things you can’t do and can’t eat!!!!
What I am going to do is tell you to change your MIND SET!!!!
Because that is where it begins, it is a MIND SET. Most people take advantage of the Holidays by indulging in everything they can get their hands on. Working out takes the back burner, and in a flash, you are 10lbs heavier.
So this is what I tell myself, and the Mind Set that I embrace in order to not only maintain during the HOLIDAYS, but LOSE WEIGHT!!! How about them apples?????? I refuse to be like the rest of the world that is using the Holidays as an excuse to eat and be inactive (walking the mall is not considered exercise). So I take this time to train harder, eat cleaner, be healthier, lose fat, get leaner. I refuse to let the Holidays take me down.
If you change your mind set and take this time to get leaner instead of “fatter”, you are going to welcome the NEW YEAR kickin’ butt!!!!!! No need for New Years Resolutions like lose 20lbs cuz you will already be fit and trim!!!
Come on, jump on the wagon with me, I already lost a few lbs for Thanksgiving, and I know you can do it too!!!
Tips to help you LOSE WEIGHT/MAINTAIN for the HOLIDAYS:
• Eat a small meal every 3-4 hours: skipping meals will make you over eat at the end of the day.
• Plan your meals and pre-cook accordingly: when “healthy” food is available, you are less likely to make bad choices.
• Commit to at least 3 days of exercise per week: Schedule it in your planner and make it part of your week.
• Be moderate at parties and events: no need to stress; if you are going to an event where there is no “healthy” choices, just be moderate in your serving sizes and opt for veggies instead of starch, and if starch is all there is, opt for only one starch….and not 3!
I can’t wait to hear your stories in January about how you either maintained your weight or even LOSE WEIGHT! I believe in you, and I believe that you will have a strong enough desire to not be like the “average American”!
