Hey Mommies, don’t you just love DATE NIGHT? I never really valued my time together with Danny until Nicholas came along. And since we hate leaving him behind, our date nights are few these days. But when we get them, we take full advantage. One of our favorite things to do is go to a HEAT GAME.
A few weekends ago Danny and I went to a game. We have season tickets, as we love to watch our MIAMI HEAT! The only problem is how the heck do you eat clean at the AMERICAN AIRLINES ARENA?
Here is my plan:
- I always eat an early dinner before we get there so that I am not starved. Because if you get to the arena even a little bit hungry……. it is all over sista! I mean, you have cheese fries, nachos and cheese, ice cream, smoothies, cookies, pizza…….. you name it, they got it!
- As for the drinks, you just have to have WILL POWER. Danny always has a few beers and I just sip on some H20.
- I normally take a few protein muffins or cinnamon maple bars in my purse and snack on those if I need to.
- There has been a few times that between packing up Nicholas’ bag to go to my parents house, feeding him, getting him ready, and dropping him off at my parents house, leaving my house clean and somehow putting myself together, I have not had a chance to eat. What do I do then? A few times I have packed up my food and eaten it in the car, and if by chance I was a BAD GIRL, and didn’t have food prepared I have eaten at the arena.
- What is the best choice? So far the best choice I have seen is a CHICKEN CHOP. I get it with all lettuce instead of the greasy yellow rice and extra tomatoes. There are also roasted almonds and cashews that you can munch on. That is the best option in terms of a snack I have seen so far.
You may be saying “what a boring chick, she can’t even enjoy a heat game”. Actually, I totally enjoy it. If I really enjoyed the food they had there, I would totally make it a cheat day and have me some greasy cheese fries, but since that is not my cup of tea. I rather save the cheat meal for another occasion. So don’t think that home girl over here doesn’t splurge and live life, because I totally do! I have just learned to pick and choose my battles. And my hope is that you do that as well.
