Yesterday I was speaking to one of my new clients, she has 4 kids, and is very BUSY!
So how exactly is she supposed to eat 5-6 times a day? Is she going to have to cook all day long in order to be able to do this? Is this even possible?
You may be thinking these same questions, whether you have one child or 4, whether you work or you are a stay at home mom.
But it is possible, if you ORGANIZE yourself.
Here is what I do, and what I did this past Saturday.
Every Friday I look through all my recipes from my healthy recipes book Eat to be Fit, and I make a menu for the entire week. Here are a few examples:
Monday:
Roasted Chicken Breast with roasted tomatoes and shallots over cannelini beans with roasted veggies.
Tuesday:
Turkey Mole over brown rice and roasted veggies with walnuts and balsamic glaze.
Wednesday:
Mango Shrimp over a bed of arugula and roasted veggies.
So, as I make the menu, I look at the ingredients for each recipe, and whatever I do not have at home I write on my shopping list. In less than 15 minutes I have a menu and my grocery shopping list.
On Saturday mornings when Nicholas wakes up around 8am, I feed him and then we go to Einsteins (my favorite coffee), I grab a yummy cup of Vanilla Hazelnut Coffee and we are off to the grocery store. I get everything on my shopping list for the week so that I don't have to go at all during the week (which is very busy for me).
I actually look forward to Saturday mornings with Nicholas, my coffee and the the grocery store! Pretty sad huh?
On Sundays, I make a dozen or 2 protein muffins so that I can eat them either for snack or for breakfast during the week. And then on Mondays and Wednesdays I cook for 2 days so that Tuesdays and Thursdays I can get some work done while Nicholas naps.
You see, if you organize yourself and make a schedule, and COMMIT to it, you will MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Check in with me tommorrow and I will let you know what was going on in my kitchen on Monday as I prepared for the week!
You won't want to miss this, I even have great pictures of the food I made!
