Healthy Recipe For Your Pregnancy Diet

During the first trimester of pregnancy most women have food aversions.  So today I am going to give you a great healthy recipe that helped me with my pregnancy diet.

For me, it was around weeks 9-12 that I was a little grossed out by all food, especially protein.  It was even hard to cook it for my husband.  When I opened the refrigerator, I would have to look away, that's how grossed out by food I was.  Lucky for me, it was the only real symptom I had, and thank God it only lasted about 3 weeks.

Since it was the look and smell of food that bothered me, I decided to make a soup.  With a soup, I could throw in all the vegetables I needed and even some chicken and then puree it.  This was such a life savor, because I started feeling bad that I wasn't giving my baby enough nutrients.

So her it goes, this recipe is going to help maintain a healthy pregnancy diet even when you don't feel like eating.

Big Mama Soup For Your Pregnancy Diet

Ingredients:

64 ounces low sodium organic chicken stock

1 head of broccoli, chopped

1 bag fresh spinach

1 onion, chopped

2 yellow squash, chopped

3 carrots, peeled and chopped

2 celery, chopped

1/2 cup cilantro

1 potato, peeled and chopped

1 can cannelini beans, rinsed and drained

1 can tomato puree

4 chicken breasts

s&p to taste

Instructions:

In a big pot, bring all the ingredients to boil.  Once all the vegetables are tender and the chicken is cooked, take the chicken out and cut it in chunks and put it back in the pot.  Puree everything together in a food processor or blender, or if you have an immersion blender, use that directly in the pot.

This recipe is just a strategy to help you with your pregnancy diet.  You can use whatever vegetables and protein you would like.  You can even use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth.  Get creative!  This helped me so much with my pregnancy diet those few weeks that I had aversion to all foods!

I read my whole pregnancy What to ecxept when your ecxepting it tells you week by week about your baby and i loved it. To me it seemed to make my pregnancy go fast as every week i would read what my baby is developing. I also read The everything birthing book as it tells you different birthing ways. I went to Wal mart to buy them that was the cheapest place for me. i live in maine. If you buy things online you can search online might be cheaper. What type of classes do you want to take. birthing classes or something like yoga? I did yoga for my whole pregnancy and i seemed to be relaxed through it all. for birthing classes i took Birthing without fear as i wanted a no meds labor and i got it. It talks about breathing not like lamaz breathing at all. helps with some pressures your person that is going in with you can do on you when your in labor. I hope this helps some. Through your hospital I took my classes. Talk with your midwife or Dr about where you can sign up for these that is how I took them. My classes for both were right in the hospital.
