Do you over eat? I know it’s hard to answer this question because what is over eating? It is probably a different quantity for you than it is for me.
This is week 5 of the Food Logging Program, it has been amazing! I have been getting e-mails of women telling me they already feel a difference in their clothes, and all I’m doing is checking their food logs!
I have come to realize that a lot of people are making “good” choices on their healthy eating plan but they are still over eating! And my friend, you can eat grilled chicken, broccoli, and brown rice for every meal every day; and still not lose fat! Incredible huh? The deal is that if at the end of the day you consumed too many calories, be it chicken, broccoli, and brown rice, or pizza, you will still not lose any body fat. Continue reading to get more great tips for your healthy eating plan.
I was amazed to see all of these women’s food logs. Some needed to make some serious changes, but some where simply over eating. I found that there are two reasons why they were over eating; now pay attention because I’m sure this is you as well.
2 Reasons for OVER EATING even on a healthy eating plan:
1. Not enough food throughout the day.
2. Not enjoying the food, so………...BINGE!
The typical mind set is to barely eat, to wait as long as you can until it is time to eat. I had a client that when I did her initial session where we discuss nutrition she told me she did great, she didn’t eat anything until 12PM………I almost had a heart attack! Ok, so I’m exaggerating a little, but holy moly, I would have died by that time without food!
So what happens when too much time goes by without eating, or when you only ate a can of tuna for lunch because you are “trying to lose weight”? Other than being SUPER CRANKY, your blood sugar is low! Guess what your body NEEDS & CRAVES? Yes my friend, SUGAR! So though your intentions of not eating were good, you end up eating sugar or too many carbs in the evening!
It’s also like you don’t ever catch up! You didn’t eat enough for breakfast, you barely ate lunch. So of course by dinner time you are starving and since you haven’t caught up on your calorie consumption by dinner time whatever your normal serving is will not be enough! You will want more and more and more! Come on! Don’t try to deny it my friend, I’ve been there and done that! And it doesn’t work!
You are better off eating all your meals with adequate quantities! This way your blood sugar will never drop to the point you crave sugar, and you will not have the desire to over eat!
HEALTHY EATING PLAN BOTTOM LINE:
DON’T SKIP MEALS; EAT A SMALL MEAL INCLUDING A PROTEIN, A CARBOHYRATE, AND SOME VEGGIES EVERY 3-4 HOURS.
I have one particular client who is doing the Food Logging Program, who would eat a meal and followed it with a muffin or a sugar free Jell-O or a pudding or cottage cheese with crackers…….you get the picture right?
The truth is that she wasn’t enjoying her food, it was bland and boring. So of course after every boring meal, she didn’t feel satisfied!
All we did to change that is start being creative with the meals, use seasonings, tasty and healthy recipes. You can make any recipe healthy! She got my "Eat to be Fit" healthy recipe book, I had her subscribe to a couple of recipe magazines, and now she is cooking delicious and healthy meals! What is most important is that she is now enjoying her healthy eating plan so she no longer has the desire to pick at food after each meal.
Since then she has told me she sees a huge difference in her body! Well duh! Even though it wasn’t her intention…..she was consuming more calories before with her boring and bland food!
So there you have it…………..start being creative in the kitchen, if you are not sure how, get the best healthy recipe book in the market, "Eat to be Fit". You can get it now for only $19.95. I promise you will see a huge difference……you will start to feel your clothes getting looser, and you will be eating yummier than ever, well at least when you were “dieting”!
If you want another shot at doing the Food Logging Program, sign up now. But hurry up….I am only taking the first 10 people! You will see some tremendous results….I’m seeing them right now with the last group, and the best part is that it is only $24.95 per month! It doesn’t get better than that!
Also, if you are not used to logging, you should start. It will give you a good idea of how many calories you are consuming. It is also different when you write it down. Sometimes you don’t realize how much you are eating until you see it in ink!! It is very helpful to log so if you want to start, check out my Nutrition & Food Log Journal for only $19.95.
