Summer is almost here and I am so ready to hit the beach. Danny, Nicholas and I LOVE the beach. So we have been going a lot lately even though the water is still a bit cold.

This past Sunday, we went to the beach with my parents. Do you know what that means? It means my dad is the MASTER COOLER PACKER, which means there is so much yummy stuff to eat its almost irresistible. So knowing that before hand, I did some prepping myself for our AWESOME BEACH DAY.
Here is what I packed:
- An Italian hoagie (all the way, for Danny)
- Crunchy Fruity Tuna Salad (for me)
- Sun chips (Danny’s favorite chips)
- Plenty of fresh organic fruit
- 12-pack of Corona Light (for my wonderful hubby)
- 12-pack of water
- Organic Blue Corn Chips with fresh Salsa
- Protein Muffins
I also made sure to tell my dad to bring some veggies for me.
Having a bunch of healthy options made it so much easier to eat right. Like I always say, its so much easier to have WILL POWER when you have healthy options readily available, and when you have been eating every few hours and don’t have LOW BLOOD SUGAR. Now I must admit, I wasn’t perfect! Let me explain. My friend and her husband and 2 kids came to the beach with us also. She was telling me for the millionth time to give her a diet and she would do it. I proceeded to tell her “NO WAY, I am not going to let you waste my time one more time, because I know you won’t stick to it”. So she says, “I know, I just can’t eat perfect like you do”. Now imagine this……………….. as I dipped a tortilla chip in the salsa and sipped on my delicious peach margarita. “Really, I said, you can’t eat perfect like these chips and margarita I am having”. I also proceeded to remind her of all the times we are together and I will indulge “MODERATELY in sinful foods”.
Listen, my friend. I am not expecting you to eat PERFECT ALL the time. You don’t have to EAT PERFECT all the time in order to get great results. Most people don’t ever start on a nutrition or exercise plan because they are AFRAID of having to EAT PERFECT ALL THE TIME.
Well here is the GOOD NEWS. You can eat great all the time and still indulge MODERATELY once in a while and still get tremendous results. I just did a photo shoot for my new website and mommy and me program and though I have been very dedicated with my diet, I have not felt deprived for a single day. And I had a cheat/free meal OR meals, every single week. So please, don’t let that prevent you from getting started.
I hope this BEACH DAY prep plan helps you on your next beach day, and make sure to HAVE FUN and take lots of healthy snacks for you to munch on while your kids snack on all the crap.
